Concludes that the typical dressing style in air-conditioned office buildings in summer in Beijing and Tianjin area is short sleeve attire and trousers, and the typical fabric is cotton by questionnaire and experiment test. The average thermal resistance of the typical dressing is 0.37 clo and its moisture vapour resistance is 18.09 m2·Pa/W by the sweating manikin test. From the aspect of reducing thermal resistance of dressing in summer, suggests choosing the cotton fabric with lower thermal resistance, such as single jersey and percale. The thermal resistance of the typical dressing is 0.13 clo lower than the standard dressing thermal resistance used in relative standards and the subjective temperature of the typical dressing is 0.81 ℃ higher than that of the standard dressing, so the indoor design temperature can be enhanced in air-conditioned office buildings in summer.
